Following My Own Beat

I am not much of a music geek. I usually find what I like and continue to listen to it until I am sick of it. Even with my limited music appreciation it is essential for me to have during work. My typical at work jams require: mellow, can be background at times, but still has a zip to it, to keep me motivated. I tend to listen to Pandora to give me the work mix I desire.

A Magical Experience

Earlier this week I had the wonderful opportunity to see the Lion King. I had tickets in the third row; amazing doesn't come close to describing the experience.

 All of the elements that go together to make this show an incredible Sunday afternoon are truly inspiring: puppets, actors, dancers, robotics, costumes, graphics, music, and humor. Even the graphics that they use to promote the show have a graphic and ethnic feel, just perfect for the show. I need to take time to see theater now and again because it was really refreshing to rediscover the magical experience of live theater.

Not Musically Inclined

It seems increasingly I have noticed to more and more websites using music. This is a fatal error for almost any site. Ones that sell or about musicians it is understandable that they would play music (although I don't think any website should automatically play music it should have to be selected). Music is a lead turn off for me of any website. Most of the time it isn't music I like (a big problem is that there is only a small selection of people that like the same type of music). When I am on my compute I typically am playing my OWN music so the websites contribution just makes noise to drive me nuts.

So if you are looking to enhance your website look for something besides music. Especially photographers seem to be the worst at it. Don't choose music, choose a cool transition effect for displaying your photos. Learn some Java, anything but music.

Remember friends don't let friends put music on their website.
